Humane Society Launching "End Dogfighting" Campaign This Week
The statistics are grim: 2010 saw five times as many reported dogfighting cases as 2008. That's up to as many as 1,177 investigations last year. It's unclear whether dogfighting is on the rise or just something people are more comfortable reporting, but one thing is certain: dogs don't deserve it and the scum who do it need to go to jail. The Daily News tells us that the Humane Society of the United States will be at Hunting Park Recreation Center on Thursday to announce a campaign to stop the fighting. Let's hope they can take advantage of heightened awareness and get out the message.
