Gas Main Explosion Rocks Tacony

At around 7:30 last night on Disston Street in the city's Tacony section, PGW crews and city firemen were working to repair a leaking gas main when something caused the pressurized gas to ignite, sending a tremendous fireball into the air. The body of a nineteen-year-old PGW worker was found after the fire was contained, and three other PGW workers as well as a firefighter were transported to the Temple University Hospital Burn Unit. Mayor Michael Nutter's opinion: "The street is all blown up." See the raw video below.
